AND the blog of BIT OF CHAR{M} is finally born. Bit of Char{M} came from 1) my name "Char" && 2) my love for adding charm to old things. I created this blog probably over a year ago solely for my love of DIY - I like to call "projecting" - Ya, I know it's not a word, but whatev ... right? I wanted to share my creations and love of projecting, but as you can see this is my first post and the blog didn't get anywhere. So I decided to finally begin this blog to have something to look back on of not only my projects, but my journey through life.
My love for DIY grew when my husband, Chris and I moved to Missoula, MT from Washington after his employer closed the business. Montana was suppose to be a temporarily thing (we lived with his grandparents) and because of that, I was not game for getting a job so thats where making and selling my items came into action. My mother-in-law and I started making projects shortly after she got laid off from her job. We sold our creations at various shows and the local People's Markets. I did that for almost two years.
Chris got a job in Fort Worth, TX in March and moved there immediatley. I stayed back and followed him 6 months later. It was not EASY, but I had shows obligations through out the summer and also was going to school As a result of moving to Texas, my project making was put on a halt.
We became a FIRST TIME homeowner in November (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME). I really miss making projects and going to shows, I am on the fence about continuing to make and sale them here. However, I am extremely excited to start creating decorations to make our home HOME. For the first time EVER, I actually care about decorating. I am a TOTAL amateur in the whole decorationg category, but a girl can learn right?
